The story of brand and passion

The brand is his passion.

He believes in social media.

Ok he had a silver spoon and he inherited a million dollar business BUT...

he has the right principle.

It's easier to start with a million dollar business than with zero, zilch, nadda, nothing. Still it's possible as you'll see.

He was born in Babruysk, U.S.S.R. (today Belarus) on November 14, 1975 and emigrated to the U.S. in 1978. He graduated from Mount Ida College in Newton, MA. From a platform as co-owner and Director of Operations of Wine Library, a wine retail shop in Springfield, New Jersey, Vaynerchuk gained fame as the host of Wine Library TV, a daily internet webcast on the subject of wine.

Sometimes he is loud and obnoxious. That's an understatement.

The purists don't like him because he is hyperactive and has created a cult following. They are "Vayniacs."

He shouts out loud, "You MUST have brand equity."

"If you don't believe in what you are doing, please stop doing it."

Of course he is a blogger. Gary has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, GQ, and Time, appeared on Late Night with Conan O'Brien and Ellen.

He is "the first wine guru of the YouTube era" and "the wine world's new superstar."

His claim to fame is a video blog featuring wine reviews and advice on wine appreciation. Episodes consists of wine tastings along with other wine related topics. The show debuted on February 21, 2006, and is produced on a daily basis, on weekdays, and is taped in the Wine Library store in Springfield, NJ. Episodes taped Monday through Thursday take place on a desk in Vaynerchuk's office, normally tasting three or four wines, and the Friday episode takes place on Vaynerchuk's office couch, tasting usually only one wine and answering questions submitted via his Facebook application Ask Gary. The show may be watched by 90,000 viewers.

He has featured guests like Jancis Robinson, Heidi Barrett, George M. Taber, Kevin Rose, Maynard James Keenan, Ingrid Hoffmann, Timothy Ferriss, Jim Cramer of CNBC's Mad Money, Wayne Gretzky, and Dick Vermeil, Super Bowl Winning NFL Head Coach.

Lately Gary Vaynerchuk partnered with Eatdrinkordie.com and launched Obsessed TV with his partner, Samantha Ettus.

He also signed a 10-book deal with HarperStudio for over $1,000,000 and released his first book, "Crush It! Why Now is the Time to Cash in on your Passion," in October 2009.

In his book, he encourages people to make money on the Internet with their passion, their brand and what makes them happy.

With Twitter, Facebook, blogs and Youtube, the costs to share your passion and knowledge is now very low.

All you need is "sweat equity" to build a brand and business.

Are you willing to invest your time and money? Because you do need some money, hey Gary!
